Administrative setup

  The Deputy Commissioner heads the District as the overall District Head. The DeputyGo BACK Commissioner also acts as  District GO HOME Development Commissioner for the development purposes and controls the developmental activities in the district. The Deputy commissioner also acts as District Magistrate with regard to the law & order related matters and as District Collector as well. The administrative setup is as follows:

  DEVELOPMENTAL SETUP

Pulwama District Comes under   31 -  Anantnag , PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUE

Pulwama district has 286 Panchayat Halqa's and 554 Villages out of which 18 villages are uninhabited. The building of District Secretariat was dedicated to the people of district Pulwama   on 13th of July 1979 by the then Hon’ble Speaker of J&K Legislative Assembly .  It is situated at a very prime location on Jammu- Srinagar  National Highway   just at  14 km and 16 km milestones from Awantipora on Highway  and  Galander on  Highway  respectively. It is two  storied building accommodating all the major offices of district like DC office, Chief Planning Officer’s Office, Distt Stat. & Evaluation Office, Addl. Deputy Commissioner/ Asstt. Commissioner (Revenue),  NIC,  Election Office,  Information Office, Asstt Commissioner (Development) Office, Relief Office, District Panchayat  Bawan, ARTO Office etc.. This building is situated at a very prime location on Pulwama - Shopian road and is called  D C Office/ Administrative Complex , Pulwama.

The district  further  has been grouped into four Community Development Blocks viz Pulwama, Kakapora, Tral, Pampore and Keller (Partly) for development purposes. There are 131 patwar halqas and 286 delimited Panchayat Halqa's. Tehsil wise number of halqas and villages is reported as under:-
